The powder in Sochi is amazing, whilst the Apres-ski gives even the wildest resort a run for its money, and those with discerning tastes will be pleased to hear of the masses of top notch restaurants lining the slopes with a la carte menus.

Ski package holidays are only just starting to appear in Sochi, with companies such as Crystal adding it to their destination list, albeit is a seriously adventurous one, but if you really want to get the best out of Sochi then we’d recommend renting a ski chalet directly.

La Tzoumaz in the Swiss Alps is fast catching up with its mega resort sister across the valley; Nendaz. With a picture perfect town centre it is a great alternative base for skiing this linked area of the Swiss Alps. Add to that the 10km Toboggan run and the direct access to over 400km of runs and its north-facing slopes allowing a longer ski-season all the way through to late-April. It’s the perfect ski resort for a last minute ski holiday.

St Moritz in Switzerland was once famed as the one of the most expensive ski resorts in Europe, that and the birth place of white winter holidays.
